Water & Sewer
Through an agreement between the City of Lenoir, and the Town of Hudson, the City of Lenoir provides water and sewer services to the residents and businesses of Hudson. The City of Lenoir provides a drop box for payments at the Hudson Town Hall. The drop box is located at the end of the driveway for the drive-thru window at the Hudson Town Hall. Payments are collected from the drop box by the City of Lenoir Monday through Friday. If you have questions about your water/sewer bill, contact the Lenoir Water Department at 757-3310 or 757-2200.
Street Maintenance
The Town of Hudson has approximately 23.9 miles of paved streets or roads within the Town Limits. There are currently no unpaved Town streets in Hudson. The Public Works Department maintains the paving, resurfacing and damage repairs to the Town streets as needed.
Properties & Grounds
All the properties and grounds owned by the Town of Hudson are cared for by the Public Works Department. Care for the grounds includes mowing grass, planting flowers and trees, fertilizing and administering weed control, as well as working to keep the grounds free of litter.
Annual Leaf Pick-Up
Guidelines - adopted 4/19/2016

The Public Works Department provides an Annual Leaf Pick-Up for Town residents. During the fall, usually during the months of November through January, the Public Works Department picks up leaves. The Town has a vacuum system that vacuums up the leaves, and the leaves need to be raked in a pile the curb so they can be raked into the vacuum machine. The leaves need to be free of rocks, tree limbs, or other debris that could damage machinery or cause injury to the machine operator. The days of for leaf pick-up varies by street. Call the Hudson Town Hall at 728-8272 or the Hudson Town Garage at 728-2826 for more information.
Leaf & Limb Pick Up Schedule:

Chipping
The Public Works Department provides a service of chipping and grinding tree limbs and brush. The tree limbs or brush must be pulled to the curb, with the cut side of the limbs facing the street. The cut side of the limbs can be no larger than 6 inches in size, so that the limbs will fit into the Town's chipper. It is important that that the limbs or brush be placed at the curb. Town employees do not go beyond the street right-of-way to collect the debris. The chipping schedule is listed above (Leaf & Limb Schedule).
Please note: Within a six-month period, the first hour of chipping is free. There is a charge of $75.00 per hour beyond the first hour. The public works department will advise the property owner in advance if the amount of debris to be chipped appears to exceed one hour of chipping time.
Special Pick-Up
The Public Works Department will pick-up large items, such as old appliances, old furniture, light construction materials, etc., that cannot be picked up with the regular weekly garbage pick-up. A fee of $20.00 is charged for a pick-up size load of debris, and a fee of $40.00 is charged for a dump truck size load. Each year in April, the Town has its Annual Spring Clean-up, during which time, the Town picks up larger debris at no charge.
The following items cannot be picked up by the Town during our Clean-Up:
- tires on the rim (tires must be off the rim for the Town to pick-up)
- paint in cans
- old batteries
- roofing sealer
- bricks or broken concrete
- hazardous waste of any type
If you have questions about items that you need to dispose of, or if you would like to schedule an extra pick-up, please contact the Public Works Dept. at 728-2826, or the Hudson Town Hall at 728-8272.
